During yesterday’s team meeting myboss announced that *I* am heading up groups 28/29. what?!? I thought “shegeek#3″ was doing them! and he says “no, i need someone who’s here during the day same time I am” Well great, i’m thinking to myself “shegeek#3″ is going to be kinda pissed about this… heck, i would be! she was so excited about it. I’ve done this before it’s not a big deal so i couldn’t care less either way except now my workload seems to have doubled. …and how can someone change their mind 3 times about who will head up an important group?

So today i got absolutely nothing done with respect to this thing. Everytime I’d change desktops to begin hammering at them either the phone would ring, or a server would break, or a coworker would ask me a question, or a high priority ids case would come in. today we had a doozy with a couple customers getting assigned .255 ip’s. i’ve never seen that one before! …anyway, since i stay up so late anyway, i’m going to do a little work on the groups from home. [ This is stuff "shegeek#3" could be doing during third, don't you think? ]

…but I’ll just shut my trap and do as I’m told.

GRRRRRR!! Man, why can’t I just ever let this stuff lie and wait till the next day and go to sleeeeep so I can function at work and not feel like a zombie and want to die .. damn! this is why I loved 2nd shift! GRRRRRRR!!

I just downloaded and installed all three; logjam, kluje, and drivel. Drivel by far is the best, IMO. Kluje is “pretty”, but I couldn’t get it to behave correctly and it didn’t have as many options as drivel when i saw it so i gave up. Logjam is also not as nice as drivel.. but it gets the job done. …and this is me testing drivel for the first time.

This weekend was slightly more productive than last weekend was. But only slightly. I have about 10 things on my todo list and number 4 seems to have mistakenly made itself priority one somehow leaving the rest of them waiting and some of them are pretty darn important too! like paying our bills. I’m the accountant in the house. My grandmother’s phone got cut off again on friday. (i’m supposed to pay it but i forgot). It was a whopping 300 bucks. wow. I must have let it slide a little longer than a month, eh? Man was she pissed cuz this wasn’t the first time. ..more like the fifth. but i got it taken care of that same day.. boy i felt like a heel after that.

Anyway, i figured if i never got my tv tuner working, i’d never move on to better things so i went out and bought a more linux compatible tuner. I gotta have a working tuner! the radeon tuner drivers are just way too experimental at this point but i’ll tinker with them some more later down the road. Now that that is done, i started doing laundry (2nd on my list actually) 1st is bill paying but who likes doing that? Our cable keeps getting cut off too, cuz i forget to pay… eesh. good thing dennis has a good sense of humor. everything else is set to automatic online bill pay. the only things that require check writing are the ones i keep forgetting. like my grandmother’s phone, cable, and rent. i forgot rent one time too… but that’s all it took. those folks are harsh when you forget rent!

we have to go pay rohan a visit today to find out about our morgage loan. for some reason that little contract says 7.25% when it should be 6.5% I never could fully understand those things. it’s been 4 years and i’ve yet to completely understand my car loan papers. what’s the diff between apr and interest rate anyway? isn’t it supposed to be the same?

anyway, no sleep for me tonight! if i sleep, i’ll end up getting up at 4pm and 1st shift tomorrow will be hell all over again. dennis and i are going clothes shopping a little later. we both need it bad. i have 7 year old underwear and socks with holes. my pants dont fit and all my shirts are faded and misshapen. yep, time for some new cheap walmart clothes alright. His fave pair of jeans has 2 holes in the butt and his underwear situation was so bad i got him about 15 pair for his bday! … and he was expecting a lazer printer. pffffft… what am i made of money?

Man, I’m so happy it’s finally friday so i can relax the next couple days. This shift move in the middle of my work week has been torturous. on Tuesday night I didn’t get home from work until about 1am. I stayed up till about 4 (which is when i’m used to going to bed) and decided to stay up cuz there’s no way i would have made it in at 7 if i’d gone to bed at 4.

At 7am I took off to work. I was all over the road kept swerving to my right for some reason. I felt drunk. the drivers on the streets that early are a lot more aggressive too, so i’m lucky i didn’t get into an accident.

I was so out of it walking in I forgot my pin at the door. I’ve had the same pin for two and a half years – that should give some idea of my state of mind. I could tell which 4 numbers it was just couldn’t remember which order they went but I finally got it by trial an error.

The day was a blur. Thank god I didn’t have to do anything too complicated or I would have fucked it up for sure.

It was hard for me to sleep right last night. I slept from 7 to 12 then woke up when dennis got home. I couldn’t go back to sleep again untill 4am. I actually started feeling sick my sleep pattern was out of sync with what i’m used to..

This is like jet lag or something. Moving to third shift would have been a LOT easier transition for me I think. I’m a night person, not a morning person. At all.

Today is better but there was no way I could have made it in at 7 so i slept in till 8 and got here at 9. I think maybe i’ll work 9 to 7 from now on. I’m not sure yet. traffic at 8:30 wasn’t so bad so that’s a plus.
