last night was hell… i won’t even let myself get uptight over it by typing out the details but, in short, i guess babies have good and bad days. well yesterday was one of her worst. today she’s a saint. After some undivided attention, playtime w/ me, her favorite play buddy :) , and an hour long snooze, she’s herself again. snoozing again in her swing. aaaaaaahhh can u hear that? uh? no? u can’t? …well, it’s called silence. :D
now i can do a little bit of “house stuff”. =) never thought i’d be happy to do it.
we didn’t really do a lot but for some reason it feels like an extraordinarly long day to me and i’m beat.
up at 10ish, denny’s with the child, office depot, back home and on the computer the rest of the time. jada acted up aaaall day long omg it was a miracle to get her to sleep for 3 hours in the afternoon and she’s asleep again now but any time besides that was spent fussing and crying.
well…. maybe THAT’S why we’re so tired.
alas, my sister has come to visit me :D. It’s nice to have her around for the weekend. she came w/ the SO (significant other) to go to his niece’s first birthday party. she conincidently lives in west boca. and to see her own niece of course. =)
we saw Wrong Turn, a wanabe “horror” movie last night. [rolling eyes] It was all sorts of fun laughing and heckling the characters as they did stupid shit like climb up a really high wooden tower in the dead of night in the middle of a desolate forest to “hide” from the inbred beastly ax weilding men …and then proceed turn on lights and start yellng and screaming into a radio for help… as if the crypt keeper-esque looking psycho homocidal men wouldn’t see all the commotion and immediately know where to find them … and kill them.. how idiotic.
I’m sure you are ALL just at the edge of your seats waiting for the next episode of “Tania’s computer troubles adventure”. heh…. riiight…
well, went out and got new power supply.. another 430 watt Antec. Installed it. fired it up. everything kosher. decide to put the “dead” 13gb back in. it spins up. reboot couple times, no hiccups. Decide to put the really REALLY dead and stiff 36 back in. it spins up. no hiccups. reboot couple times, no problems, no “failed to write delay” , no “can’t access partition” messages, no “CLANK ZWOOOOOSH CLANK ZWOOOOOOOSH” sounds.
Still it’s been 2 days. so I won’t breathe easy or put any valuable data on those drives for a while until they prove to me they want to continue residing inside gomjabbar … =)
( . o O hmmm… I think i should put my radeon video card back in next and see if it is shocked back into life again as well.)
…now i’m left with a brand spanking shiney new 120gb drive i probably never really needed to get in the first place….
something fishy is going on in my computer case… like little gremlins are coming out at night and hammering at my components.
first, a couple weeks ago, my video card takes a dump. Next my 36gb scsi drive dies around the same time but i toook it out just last 2 nights ago, NEXT.. my old 13 gb hdd kicks the bucket (loUd clank noise and will not spin up despite reboot attempts) … oh boy… so i pull that one out too and backup everything that means anything to me on my external Que drive.. and i format the remaining 2 drives and the guess what… my external Q loses everything. aaaaahhhh!!!!!! and on i go on a quest to recover the data.. then in the middle of all this my 9gb .. loud clank.. unexpectedly spins down.. everything freezes…. few seconds later spins back up… I think i’m going to chuck the whole bitch into a canal. this is too much of a coincidence now.. i’m thinking bad mboard, bad power supply, power spikes… who the hell knows.
