that’s my baby!!

last night i do the nighly bedtime routine with jada. Bathe her, feed her, stick her in her crib, wash her with kisses, and then walk to the door turn around and say “nighty nite” and wave goodbye to her. Usually nowadays by the time i make it to the door, she’s already working on standing up in her crib and then i run back to her and kiss her little face until she smiles, then walk back to the door, say “nighty nite” again and wave goodbye.

she usually just stands there with a big ‘ol smile on her face but last night was special. She actually lifted her arm way up in the air and ’sortof’ waved goodbye to me. So of course i had to run back and kiss her all over again and i was laughing my head off. i run back to the door, try it again. waved goodbye and she did it again! she waved goodbye to me. WOW , i waved back a couple more times and she did it couple more times. man, i forgot to tell dennis about that. well, i haven’t seen dennis really. what a milestone that is for her! amazing!

woot!

my weekend … and stuff.

I’m feeling particularly determined today AGAIN. let’s hope this lasts.

Well sat and sunday morning were nicely spent with xenia and dustin . he reminds me so much of my ex it’s crazy.

i got to meet noel’s new woman, nadia, on saturday. She seemed nice and now i know what noel means about her being sortof soft spoken but i don’t see much wrong with that. he’s NOT soft spoken or shy AT ALL so i think he was looking for someone like that but i think they balance eachother out.

yesterday was sortof a layed back day for me and dennis. I spent hours playing ratchet and clank on the ps2. i’m hooked!! but it had to be returned last night (rental) so i think dennis is going to go on a hunt for a used copy with jada today.

I found out on friday that our TV is going bad. I had adelphia come out cuz i thought it was their equipment that kept crapping out. turns out its the tv. :( it’s about 7 years old but maybe we can squeeze a little more life out of it. When it does go completely bad, we want to buy a widescreen. that would be nice but they’re just sooo expensive.

we checked out costco on sunday and we hated it. all they sell for baby food is formula. i wasn’t all that impressed otherwise. So we went to bj’s yesterday and it was better. There wasn’t a lot of variety but everything is sold in bulk. We got a 90 day free membership we can cancel if we change our minds.. they have the cheapest park benches i’ve ever seen. AND a really good price on patio furniture. the savings on the bench alone will make up for the 30 dollar / 15 month membership. i’m going back to get that cheap ass 30 buck area rug i saw too. can’t get any better than that!

romper room in my house

when you’re expecting guests you tend to look at the place you live through virgin eyes. “does it look too messy?” , “is it dirty? smelly?”

no, none of the above (at least not too bad, anyway) but what it looks like is romper room. baby gear EVERYwhere and my house isn’t that big. I have a baby walker, exersaucer, swing, playpen, other play area all crammed in the living room . sheesh. my sister’s driving down today but i know she doesnt’ give a shit about what it looks like anyway.

soooo… i got an estimate yesterday for some tree trimming . I’m expecting another estimate today from someone else but i think the guy from yesterday is a winner. He was SOO nice and went into SO much detail about how a tree heals itself after a branch is cut and how important it is to do it right or the tree won’t heal right,e tc, etc, etc,… he spent about 40 minutes there going over everything and he quoted me a REALLY good price for trimming about 13 trees, and grinding one stump.

I can’t wait to have all the work done . It’s gonna be so awesome to cut the jungle back a bit and let some more sunlight through to the yard for the new sod we’re planning on.

oh! and may i add that he was VERY impressed by the work i had done so far. YEAH, BAY BEEE!!

Origin
Popular wisdom attributes this to be derived from Thomas Crapper, the inventor of the flush toilet. Unfortunately, TC didn’t invent the toilet - only an additional attachment to it. Also, the word crap was in use before TC gained fame for his contribution to sanitary engineering.
