I had stumbled onto this soldier’s blog (fear and loathing in iraq) last month sometime as i was researching different blog sites when i was considering starting a new one. I found the blog and thought it “wow, a soldier in iraq has internet access?” I read about one paragraph and decided i had had enough. it sounded boring (don’t remember what part i was reading) and for some reason thought it was written by more than one soldier which didn’t appeal to me. I much rather follow just one guy’s blog, not a dozen.
Anyway, Dennis was talking about that blog last week and I thought I would check it out again. Well… now I’m hooked. I stayed up all night, got a headache.. read for hours the next day, got another headache (white on black kills me) but I’ve read every last post now. He doesn’t have the best grammer or spelling but everything he had to say kept my attention like a good book. You don’t get as much info from the news or the paper at all. Reading one soldier’s story is so much more personal and now I feel afraid for this guy. He’s in the infantry and where a lot of fighting is going on. Now I think he’s getting heat from his superiors in the army who discovered the blog. … who knows if he will ever post again….
And as I’m reading different blogs today guess who else’s blog I find but Quentin Tarantino’s blog. Just about everybody and their grandmother has a blog these days. Amazing…
I’ll have to check that out. I want to talk to you. I tried calling you but there was no answer.
