To me, having to reinstall an os and move all my shit over is like moving to a new house. It’s such a huge inconvenience and then it takes some time before you “unpack” all your shit and forever before everything is just the way you want it.
We got new pc’s at work couple weeks ago (P4, 2.8Ghz, 1gig ram, 80 gig hdd) pretty sweet. I think I’ve finally moved in and unpacked my boxes. lol! It’s pretty much all I did all day yesterday and this AM. Now i’m installing fedora on my old xp machine. the dual p2. it has 512 of ram and about 70gigs of hdd space. Hopefully linux will run way faster on this fucker than that old dell whatever that is. It’s so slow it takes about 4 minutes for it to load all my email. sheesh.
so i got 3 monitors all hooked up to 3 different machines with 3 different video cards and i’ve gotten migraines 3 days straight. a BIG rarity for me.. I think my eyes really really hate the new gforce card.. i hope i can get used to it.
i am running redhat 9.0 at home — how does fedora compare?
did you guys finally get those black boxes?
Reply to geekychick1don’t know, i haven’t had a chance to look around it much yet. i’m running Up2date and it’s taking forEVER.
