looks like it’s a hit

I told one of my coworkers about google maps this morn and so far he’s gone around telling 2 other coworkers about it and I just heard him calling his wife and telling her about it. ROFL!!

Here’s were we work. :)

so far I’ve looked at the statue of liberty and where the twin towers was.. my old house in miami, and um… tried to find my old house in new york but i must have forgotten my old zip or something. :(

Not sure if I feel so ready just yet..

So I’ve told a couple of you that Dennis and I had planned on trying for #2 starting in June. Thing is , tho, that the closer we get to that date, the less ready I feel. I mean, we still have a wreck of a house to deal with, D still has to work his shit schedule, Jada could use more of our attention, and… I’m still 30 lbs overweight! :(

I’m just not so sure about it. So come June we might just not really try but just stop trying to not get pregnant. I dunno… If we wait, I say we wait till October so they end up having close to the same birthdays. Every now and again I think we should stop now and just have a single child. sigh…

Holy shit!!!

I woke up this morning to my radio. someone on there was giving a news brief and it started out with “It’s april 13th …” and it hit me. OH SHIT, TAXES ARE DUE IN 2 DAYS!!!! I gotta get my ass in gear! I do this shit every single year. I find myself doing our taxes the day before they’re due. And I’m worried about this year because I sold a couple hundred shares of sgi stock I owned for about 3 years and I gotta include that crap in there. I think stocks and I don’t like eachother much. :(
And to whoever looks at me suspiciously and says “man, you must not need your return money very badly , huh…” implying I must be making too much money at my job to care …. yeah right. Thing is that any money I’ve ever gotten in the form of a bonus, tax returns, options money (remember those?) has always been dumped in a big ‘ol pool destined for “THE HOUSE”. all of it sitting patiently waiting to be used in some form or another on “THE HOUSE”. Before we bought it, it was to buy the house. Now it’s for the repair of the house. We never go on some shopping spree, vacation, or anything like that.

Anyways.. I gotta remember to work on it tonight. *sigh*

I love the Suze Orman show!

I get such a boost from her shows that you wouldn’t think it’s a financial show. Her advice sortof has a way of motivating me to change certain things about my life. I always come away from her shows feeling good and sortof “newly armed” to deal with our finances better.

Her advice (some of it anyway) is universal and can be applied to so many other aspects of life. IE, I watched one show the other day where a woman couldn’t seem to save anything even tho she makes a good living. After some drilling down, it was discovered that the woman spends a lot of money on things she doesn’t really need or use. The reason she did it I think was because she didn’t feel very good about herself. In the same way some people use food to feel good and end up overweight, this woman was trying to buy her way to happiness. One of the things Suze asked her to do was get rid of ALL the clothes she didn’t fit into, donate them, and use it as a tax deduction. She was keeping most of them because she was hoping to fit into them again if she lost weight. Suze said that everytime you look at clothes you don’t fit into, you are reminded of what you want to become (thin) and reminded of how much you don’t like yourself the way you are today. You hang onto the bad feelings of the present and the past, instead of moving on to and building your future. This woman was constantly getting herself into credit card debt and even if she’d pay it off, she’d create more debt again.. and again…

Anyways, that hit home, not with money but with the fact that I have about 7 boxes of my old clothes that I dont’ fit into. I put it in boxes because my closet was overflowing and I still have about 80% of the clothes in my closet don’t fit me either. I could probably fill up another 5 boxes of clothes that don’t fit me. I think it’s time to toss ALL of it.. Dam! How liberating would that be!!! Even if I lost weight down the road, it would be more fun to buy more clothes considering most of what i’m still hanging on to is from back in my college days. I wouldn’t have to think about all those clothes, I wouldn’t accidentally grab and put on a shirt that showed off my spare tire (and i do that all the time!) It always depresses me. :( I think i’m gonna start today dammit!

wordpress is alright but..

whenever I make a post and ask it to “sync with livejournal” and I ask it to post to ‘Friends’, it always posts to “custom” .. Private works fine. hmm… So I have to go back and edit the post on LJ and change the security level there. I gonna hafta look at the code and see what it’s doing wrong. I swear I always end up finding bugs and either reporting it or fixing it to these php publishing code people.

I had another one of those dreams last night. (or was it night before last) But i’m not sure I’ll be able to remember it tho. Don’t think I woke all the way up after having it…

My dreams have always been so odd. I’ve had a few when I was a kid that I still remember to this day. Maybe I should write those down. One of my earliest dreams I still remember was with the Flintstones. I was about 6 or 7 years old. I was watching fred, wilma, barney, betty get into fred’s car and started paddling their feet to move the car. When I told my brother about it the next day and described everything including the colors, he said to me “that’s not true. nobody can dream in color!” I insisted that I did dream it in color, and he kept insisting that I must be lying. So I played the whole dream back in my head in black and white to see if that’s the way I really dreamt it, but I knew it wasn’t! LOL!! where the hell did he get that shit from anyway? I always believed everything he told me. He was all knowing and oh so wise. I guess that’s the way most little sisters or little brothers feel about their older siblings, right? He told me once that he played piano at carnegie hall and I went around telling all the kids at my school about it. I was sooo proud!! Another time he told me that he invented that song “diarreah, diarreah.. when you’re walking up the latter and you feel something splatter, diarreah.. diareah.” there are plenty of versions of that. He taught me all the ones he knew and I was sooooo proud that he had invented them!

kids..

Busy day

Our day started with a trip to Intercoastal Park in Boynton for a yearly family picnic put on with the joint efforts of the members of the Palm Beach Moms community which I joined only a couple months ago. I have kept up with the mailing list but I hadn’t gotten to meet anybody until today. Only about 9 of the women made it complete with husbands and kids. Only one woman there was a single mom. Most of them are stay at home mothers so as you would imagine I expected most of them to be husband bashing, recipe swapping crunchy women. But they weren’t.. thank god! We had a good time and it was great getting to meet them at last. I CAN’T BELEIVE I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!! hopefully I can get some pics off one of the other moms tho.. :/

We left that event early so we could make it to Liz’s birthday party at another park. It was a long car line to get in and an unexpected entrance fee but on the way home I think D and I decided it would be worth paying the difference to get a year long pass to the 3 parks in that area. We wanna take J to the beach this summer and it seems like other two parks by the beach would be perfect for it. Jada had a good time at Jennifer’s party too. she just loves playgrounds. It was nice just sitting in the shade and shooting the breeze with a coworker or two. damn good chocolate cake too!

Thankfully it was all over early and we got back home to relax. We put J down for a nap but judging from all the banging going on in there I don’t think she’s napping. oh well…

It was a nice switch from what we usually do on my weekend. which is lay around all day and do nothing.
