Well, I’d heard of freecycle before and had made a mental note to check it out but of course my mental notes are like ash in the wind. My brother was raving about it to me last night, so I signed up today to the local freecycle group and DAMN people get rid of some freakin good stuff!! A mini fridge? a washing machine?!!! Most of it is much less valuable but,
damn!
well, i’m not really looking to acquire stuff. But I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled, just in case! I really just wanna get rid of a ton of crap we’d probably just throw out. If we wait to have a garage sale, it just won’t ever get done, knowing us. ![]()
So… I just felt like spreading the word.
I joined my local freecycle group not too long ago, too…I tried giving away my Gmail invites, but there were very few takers…lol. I’m going through stuff in my room now and I think I’m going to try and get rid of stuff through freecycle.
Reply to muckingaboutnever thought u could give away invites there too. want a hand ? maybe i can post a couple in my area. It’s really a great idea to exchange stuff that would normally just go to a dump. and still good stuff at that.
Reply to Tania (digsite)Yeah, if you don’t mind you could offer up my invites! hehe. Although, I’m pretty much resigned to the fact now, that no matter how many people I invite, the invites will just pop back up to 50…I guess it doesn’t really matter, but for some reason I want to give them away!
Yeah, I think the idea of freecycle is brilliant. It’s the forgotten part of “reduce, reuse, recycle”…things can be reused instead of winding up in the garbage.
Reply to muckingaboutbtw, which freecycle group are you a part of? Boca, WPB, …?
