I payed Capretto Place a visit after work yesterday and they gave me the tour AGAIN. ( I didn’t tell the girl that I’d already been there a year ago) and I felt good about that place all over again. I peeked in through the glass wall at the 2 year olds who had just woken up from their nap. Most of them were sitting at this low table eating their snacks. They were all so quiet and calm and bahaved. I told the girl who was giving me a tour . “wow, i can’t imagine my daughter sitting still like that!” and she said “most parents say the same thing” LOL! So I guess they have the majic touch! their child/caregiver ratio is 5 to 1. Everything is soo clean there and they have separate rooms for each age groups so they’re kept separate. It’s actually a school too for the older kids.
So I put J’s name on their waiting list because they’re full right now. She’s fourth on the list waiting to get in. They have no clue how long it will be. DAMMIT!!
so I went ahead and paid a visit to Kinder-Care on Broken Sound. I didn’t like it. not one bit. First, the noise level in there because of the bigger kids is ridiculous. the room for the toddlers and 2 years olds is not walled off. They just have a 3 foot wall around the area so basically the place is one large room with these low walls keeping things separated.
All the furniture and chairs and changing table look really old and dirty. She took me to the playyard outside and I felt so bad for those kids. They were giving them water out of a hose, and the 2 year olds looked like they were about to collapse from heat exaustion. One little girl with black hair was drenched. It’s funny cuz the woman giving me the tour acted like this was fine. I dunno… I just didn’t like it one bit. Not to mention they couldn’t take her the days & hours we want AND they’re waaay more expensive. $150 for 3 days? HUH?!! God knows why too with as crappy as that place looked. Their child/caregiver ratio is 11 to 1. eeeek!!
We’ll be looking around at other places but i’m holding out for Capretto Place.
Agh! That sounds horrible! Those poor little kids!
Reply to grocerynipplesi KNOW! I wouldn’t leave J in there if my job depended on it! … well, maybe if my JOB depended on it. :) i’m just glad the wait at the other place isn’t so bad.
